UPS bows to Teamsters strike threat in 7 states
Aug. 12, 2025  | United Parcel Service (UPS) bowed to a credible, coordinated strike threat authorized by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters around midnight after the union demanded the multibillion-dollar corporation cease multiple attacks on workers’ rights. With picket lines ready to assemble in the early morning hours Tuesday across seven states, the Teamsters secured a handful of settlements from UPS on outstanding grievances as well as a first contract for newly organized workers. Learn more.

Dispatch from the employer offensive: Mauser Teamsters strike back
Aug. 13, 2025  | More than 100 Teamsters are on strike at the multinational Mauser Packaging Solutions plant in Chicago, where workers who recondition steel containers used to transport chemicals are demanding higher pay, safer working conditions, and contract language protecting immigrants. The unfair-labor-practice strike by members of Teamsters Local 705 started June 9 after the union says the company illegally surveilled workers while talking with union representatives. Carhaul Teamsters launch pickets ahead of negotiations
Aug. 19, 2025  | Carhaul Teamsters from Locals 89, 332, and 604 have launched area standards pickets outside General Motors Plants in Michigan, Kentucky, and Missouri. The actions targeted nonunion carriers operating out of GM’s Flint, Bowling Green, and Wentzville Assembly plants. The pickets come as the Teamsters begin national negotiations for a new NMATA, which expires August 31. Carhaul Teamsters are demanding a contract that raises industry standards and guarantees higher pay, stronger benefits, and job protections for every member covered under the agreement. Learn more

How one Teamsters local is striking to protect immigrant workers
Aug. 25, 2025  | The strike at the factory in Little Village, a predominantly Latino area, began on June 9 over what workers say were unfair labor practices when the company allegedly spied on workers while they talked with representatives of the union, and allegedly refused to bargain in good faith. Workers are in a contract battle… By going on strike, in part, for protections for immigrants, workers are showcasing a strategy to use workers’ most powerful weapon to protect union members.
